Rosalie cardigan is a short top-down cardigan knitted in one piece with two threads. We begin to knit the neckline with raglan increases and the lace pattern on the sleeves. Once the body and sleeves are separated, we will knit the body, finished by 1/1 ribbing.

The button band is picked-up and then, knitted in 1/1 ribbing before finishing the neckline with an I-cord edging.

The lace pattern on the sleeves and front is quite easy to knit and remember for a chic and elegant result. It is a short cardigan, feated at the waist with puffed sleeves. It can be worn on every season with longue sleeves for cooler weather or shorter sleeves for warmer weather.

You can also knit the Rosalie cardigan with a single thead of DK yarn for a lighter version, as long as your gauge is matching.

Finished measurements :

(85), 90, 95 (100, 110), 120, 130 cm of bust circumference.

(33.5), 35.5, 37.5 (39.4, 43.3), 47.25, 51.2 inches of bust circumference.

Corresponding with the sizes:

(XXS), XS, S, (M, L), XL, XXL

Gauge :

16 sts x 27 rows = 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in stockinette stitch on 4.5 mm / US 7 needles  (or another size depending on your gauge) washed and blocked.

This design is recommended to be knited with a positive ease between 0 and 5 cm at the bust. The prototype has been knited in size M with 0 cm of positive ease (I like fitted cardigans).

Suggested Yarns

For an Automn-Winter version: you will need two threads knitted together (DK/Sport-Lace type) about: (720), 740, 770 (800, 890), 980, 1100 meters or (790), 810, 843 (875, 975), 1072, 1205 yards of each thread (for reminder, it is a short cardigan). I knitted with two threads and used:

–    DK: 6 and a half balls of Laine Soyeuse de Fonty -Lys blanc (70% merinos – 30% silk)

–    Lace: 3 balls of  Soft Silk mohair de Kniting for Olive- Putty 70% mohair, 30% silk

For a Spring-Summer version, I recommend using one thread of DK type about: (570), 590, 620, (650, 740), 830, 950 meters or (625), 646, 680, (711, 810), 908, 1040 yarns (with three-quarter length sleeves).

-        I used a bit more than 3 balls of Damya vert forêt yarn (55% hemp, 45% organic cotton) of Natissea.

If your gauge matches :

-        Needles 4.5mm (US Size 7) for the body and sleeves,

-        Needles 3.5mm (US Size 4) for ribbing,

-        Needles 2.5mm (US Size 1,5) for the I-Cord

-        With a 70 to 100 cm cable (and if you need, you can also use 4.5 (US 7) and 3.5 (US 4) mini circular needles)
